We recently completed a large-scale survey of blood type distributions in patients with diagnosed systemic scleroderma. In order to better understand our findings, we are now conducting a follow-on survey in patients with diagnosed Rheumatoid Arthritis in order to be able to compare the results between these two autoimmune diseases.
While not designed to be a formal scientific survey, this anonymous survey is designed to provide preliminary information about one important question:
- Is the distribution of blood types among patients diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis the same as the general population?
You should complete this survey only if you have been formally diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. You also need to know your blood type. (Note: if you are unsure about your blood type, please call your doctor’s office to see if they have information on file.)
Who Should Not Take This Survey
- Patients with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis.
- Patients with a tentative diagnosis such as UCTD (Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease).
If you are members of any Rheumatoid Arthritis support group or organization, please let them know about this survey as well.
If you have any questions before taking this survey, please contact Ed Harris, Research Fellow, Dept. of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, USA. Email: email@example.com.
